Welcome to the 2nd Infantry Regiment United States Colored Troops (USCT) Living History Association’s website.

Since our inception in 2010, we have endeavored to preserve the legacies of the original soldiers of the 2nd USCT, their families and the countless others who supported the fight for freedom and the end of the tyranny of slavery during the Civil War era. In collaboration with the John G. Riley Center/Museum of African American History, the Association continues to document the contributions and gallantry of these African American Soldiers, especially those of the 2nd Infantry Regiment USCT. Through participation in battle reenactments, we are able to expand the dialogue and tell the untold stores of the battles in which the 2nd USCT and other USCT regiments engaged.

Our association works year-round visiting schools, hosting and participating in seminars, and various cultural/community events, providing greater insight into the lifestyles and practices of the era. We are a diverse group of men, women and children of all ages, from various backgrounds, who participate in events throughout the state, region and country, honoring the legacy of these Soldiers and their families.

I personally invite you to attend our monthly meetings which occur the first Thursday of every month. Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. at the Riley Center/Museum. For more information, please browse thorugh our site or contact us HERE

Sincerely,

Sergeant Major Jarvis V. Rosier Sr. (US Army Retired) President
